He started his career with a UK insurer, before joining Societe Generale Group as COO for Sogecap Lebanon. He was appointed CEO of their Bancassurance subsidiary in Egypt in 2006, and CEO of the Moroccan subsidiary in 2009.

In 2013, Jean became CEO of SOGELIFE in Luxembourg, a leading life insurance company in the Grand-Duchy, providing life insurance and wealth planning solutions to international clients.
Jean Elia holds an International MBA and a BS in Information Technology. Specialised in strategy and leadership, he has advised several insurance companies and conducted structural changes and Bancassurance model implementations in the Middle East and Europe.

Alex Panican

Alex Panican is a serial entrepreneur with more than 10 years of experience in Business Strategy, Digital Transformation and Innovation. He’s the Head of Partnerships and Ecosystem at the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology (LHoFT), where he’s supporting international fintechs to establish and grow their operations in Europe.

Alex is also a professor in Business Strategy and Digital Marketing. He holds an MBA in Strategy from the University of Quebec in Montreal, Canada.

The LHoFT aims to drive digitalization and innovation in the Luxembourg financial industry and build a collaborative ecosystem of innovators across all sectors of the domestic and international community, including traditional financial services firms, government, regulators, universities, investors and, of course, startups.

Adina has an actuarial degree and 19 years experience in different finance fields, quantitative modeling being one of them. Adina is an Asset Allocation specialist that started her career as a derivatives trader. She then joined BNP Paribas AM where she was product manager, fund manager and head of ALM. In 2007 she joined a spinoff of the EDHEC-Risk Institute to develop the Dynamic Core Satellite approach. During her career, Adina advised numerous asset managers and institutional investors on designing and managing multi-asset portfolios, including hedge funds. In 2010 Adina co-founded Active Asset Allocation, a FInsurTech specialised on risk based asset allocation & B2B digital investing.

Arvid started his professional career as an insurance agent whilst still studying history at Ghent University, Belgium. Even though he climbed the ladder quickly, becoming responsible for several sales teams, he never lost contact with the customers and made it his mission to solve their problems.

He developed an interest in innovative insurance business models and in combining those models with cutting-edge technology in order to improve user experience and process efficiency. This led to the foundation of Belgium’s first peer-to-peer InsurTech, WeGroup.

Today, Arvid can be found at various international insurance conferences, pitching WeGroup as its co-founder and CEO or providing expertise as a speaker specializing in innovative business models and sales process optimization.

Frank has a track record in the successful international development of new business

He currently heads Digital Solutions for Finance at Telindus-Proximus, developing
novel solutions that enhance client experience and optimize operational efficiency:
e.g. Digital KYC, Asset Transfers, Reconciliation, Market-Platforms, Distributed
Processes using Blockchain, AI, etc.
Prior, as Country Manager Luxembourg for Akeance and as Managing Director of
Racine Capital, he advised the Financial Sector on the implementation of Digital
Strategies, the development of new marketing strategies as well as the improvement
of Risk-, Compliance- and Operations Management.
Previously, he was part of the founding team of two start-up banks with successful
exits. GMAC-RFC Europe, where he eventually acted as CEO, that structured and
transacted up to EUR 8 billion p.a. of international loan portfolios. EEPK, a covered
bond bank, where, as Structured Portfolio Manager, Frank built an EUR 4 billion+
fixed income arbitrage portfolio.
He started his Finance career at various Financial Institutions by working in Capital
Markets, Portfolio Management as well as Corporate & Retail Finance.
Frank is an active member in various forums (International Bankers Forum as Board
Member, ALFI in the Blockchain WG, LHoFT, B-Hive, ATEL, ILA, International
Banker Club, W3C (BlockChain Digital Assets WG).
He regularly speaks, participates in interviews and publishes on topics
encompassing Digitalization, FinTech/RegTech, Blockchain, Digital-KYC, Financial
Innovation, Capital Markets, Structured Finance and Virtual Marketing.
Frank also federates digital ecosystem initiatives like the first Luxembourg blockchain
hackathon, the EIB Blockchain Challenge, the first Luxembourg DesignAthon as well

He holds a Strategic Decision and Risk Management Certificate from Stanford, a
Master in Strategy and Change Management from Dauphine University. Frank is an
Auditor in Science and Technology of the Institut des Hautes Etudes pour la Science
et la Technologie.
